Dork Diaries: Tales From A Not So Talented Popstar

Rating

Dork Diaries’ main character’s name is Nikki, and Nikki has some problems that she solves throughout the book series. In this book, Nikki signs up for a talent show, but the Director says that her band is disqualified because the name of their band wasn’t filled out properly. She learns a valuable lesson about being proud of her hard work regardless of what happens. I like this book because the pages make it feel like a real diary. I recommend this book because it has illustrations and is good for beginners that are starting to read chapter books.

Charlotte’s Web

Rating

I recommend “Charlotte’s Web” by E.B.White for people who like spending time in farms and for people like farm animals. Charlotte’s Web is about a pig and a spider who become friends. The spider’s name is Charlotte. Charlotte helps the pig so he won’t be scared of being eaten. In the end Charlotte died but had lots and lots of kids but only three of them stayed and kept the pig in company. A lesson I learned from the boon is that no matter what size and how old you are you can always be helpful and kind.

Dork Diaries: Tales From A Not So Best Friend Forever

Rating

I loved this book so much and I can’t wait to read more of this series and see what it brings to the table next time I read this series because it was just so fun to read which not many people like to read books that don’t feel like they were meant for you but this book is just so funny and relatable to the people that are in the book that I just finished reading because it shows that sometimes being a DORK can have its advantages instead of being the POPULAR GIRL in the class so that is why I just really really loved this Book and I don’t like reading much so I would totally recommend reading this series!

Have Fun Molly Lou Melon

Rating

The first thing I noticed when I was reading this book was that the author was the same author of one of my other favorite books it was one of the funniest books I have ever read mainly the way that the pictures are written made the book look much much much cooler and the story line was pretty funny too! And how creative Molly is in the book was super cool to me to and it actually made me feel more creative in some ways! And how she stood up for herself when people didn’t believe her was super cute cause she looked kind of small in the book.

I really like that they made a book of this because sometimes I feel like I want to watch a movie but I need to read a book so I sometimes pull this book out cause it only has 31 pages which I personally really enjoy but I also love that it’s just not a book I would read in class but a book that I would read either idk I was on vacation or on a plane or even if I was on a car ride or I just want to read something in class who knows but this book is super small but good so I would totally recommend this book!

The Princess And The Pony

Rating

This book is super duper duper duper fun and creative book to because it shows that just because someone looks super mean they aren’t always as mean as they and it shows even if your small you can still win and be strong even if someone tells you that you can’t that doesn’t mean that you have to believe them which is kind of sad to me that some people that are getting bullied believe what their bully’s say about them! But overall this book was great I would definitely recommend it!

Rating

Even though some people think that PEPPA pig is for little kids doesn’t mean you apcant enjoy it so that is why I am writing this book report because even if you don’t believe that tv shows are for older kids doesn’t matter because it only matters what you think so if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say it. But anyways this book was so cute and all the characters were just so amazing and cute definitely would recommend this book to any PEPPA PIG LOVER OUT THERE!

What Pet Should I Get?

Rating

In “What Pet Should I Get?” by Dr. Seuss, siblings Sally and her brother embark on a whimsical adventure to choose a pet. They encounter a variety of playful and imaginative animals, each with its own unique traits. The story highlights the excitement and challenges of making decisions, as the children grapple with their preferences and the responsibilities of pet ownership. With Seuss’s signature rhymes and colorful illustrations, the book emphasizes themes of choice, family, and the joy of companionship. It’s a delightful exploration for young readers!

Because of Winn-Dixie

Rating

This book is not the best, but it’s not the worst. I say it’s a two Star book because there are too many characters, the plot is unbelievable, and finally the book is just basically all sad and traumatic and really the plot is just everywhere. For instance the main character’s mom abandoned her, somebody went to jail. There’s a stray dog in a supermarket, there’s a blind lady who drinks too much, etc.

Allergic

Rating

Allergic is a great book. It has drama with her siblings and friends. It talks about how she is allergic to animals with fur and feathers or hair. It also talks about how she wants to get a puppy but she can’t because she is allergic to them. She finds a friend and her friend decided to make a plan to not tell her parents that they’re going to get a mouse. But then her friend gets a dog and it makes her mad. It also shows she is upset because her mom is going to have a baby. And she feels like she is not paid attention to. She also feels left out because her brothers have each other and her parents have each other but she has no one. But then her mom has the baby and it turns out it is a girl and she is so happy. She gets over the fact her friend has a puppy and she doesn’t. She still hangs out with her. She gets happy because she feels like she is finally happy with the baby. There is much more interesting stuff but you will have to read it yourself to find out.

Wings of Fire: The Dark Secret

Rating

Wings of Fire: The Dark Secret is a great book. It is a good book for readers who enjoy fantasy and dragons. The series is about different types of dragons who are supposed to end a dragon war in a Dragon Prophecy. Each dragon was expected to hatch on the Brightest Night, but they were taken away from their homes by an organization known as the Talons of Peace, who made them learn and prepare for the war. They eventually escaped because they missed their parents so they set off on an adventure to find them.

Wing of Fire: The Dark Secret is one of the books in the series. It is about a dragon named Starflight who is a Nightwing type, one of the dragon types. He brought into his home which was secret because it was sealed with animus magic by Nightwings to keep their secrets safe. The Nightwings wanted to make war against the Rainwings, another type of dragon so they can steal their home when a volcano in the Nightwing Kingdom erupts. Starflight meets his sister, father, but soon later learns that his mother died.

His father is a scientist who is kidnapping innocent Rainwings so he can test them to make armor against their venom to grant the Nightwings a big help in the war. There is also a Nightwing called Morrowseer who made alternative dragons to end the war but they are not really because they did not hatch on the Brightest Night. Starflight finds a dreamvistior which he uses to warn the new Rainwing Queen, Glory about the Nightwing’s attack. Starflight also finds a way to get to the rainforest where the Rainwings live and which he reunites with his friends. Then Glory thinks that the Rainwings should attack first to free the Rainwings that were captured. After they free all the Rainwings the volcano suddenly erupts putting the group in a chaotic panic. Glory tells all the Nightwings that they can go into the rainforest but Glory is their queen. Morrowseer doesn’t want to and finally tells them that the Prophecy is fake and that he made it up with the Nightwing Queen to make the rainforest their home which right after he got swept away in lava. The lava blinded Starflight but Clay shielded him with his fireproof scales into the rainforest.

Wonder

Rating

Wonder is one of my favorite books of all time! Wonder is the best book for a kid to read to show everyone why it is important to be nice to someone no matter who they are. Some people get bullied because of how they look, people can’t help what they look like. Most bullies bully the “weird looking kid”.

This book shows a boy going into 5th grade for the first time in a public school. His whole life he was homeschooled by his mom but his parents wanted him to see the world. Even though Augie was still deciding he still tried it out and he made friends and the teachers seemed to love him especially his language arts teacher, Mr. Thomas Browne. He did get bullied a lot because of his looks and his braid he had in the back of his head.

You also get many different perspectives of other main characters in the book. You get his bully’s perspective, his best friend’s perspective, his other friends perspective, and his big sister’s perspective. The chapters are also very short, there are up to 1 or 2 pages then the next chapter. The characters perspective’s though are put into parts around the book and the page is blue with an illustration of their self portraits made by the illustrator. (they also have an illustrator edition with other illustrations around the book that has the same story just with more illustrations.)

I hope you enjoy this book by R.J Palacio and I hope you can read it soon and love the book just as much as I do. You can also come to me for more book ideas.

Keeper of the Lost Cities

Rating

I would give this book a five star rating because the author, Shannon Messenger give lots of details about things going on or what something is. She also ends every chapter with a cliffhanger, so it makes you want to read even more. Every chapter has something going on like in one chapter she figures out that she is an elf. Also the author’s imagination she uses in the book is amazing. She tells a lot of things that aren’t real so different from what we tell. This book is amazing and I think you should really try to read Keeper of the Lost Cities, because when you start you cannot stop!

Flora and Ulysses

Rating

Flora and Ulysses is one of the cutest and funniest books I have known ever since 3rd grade. When I was in 3rd grade my teacher read this book for me and I absolutely loved the story line and everything!

This book has 231 pages total and its chapters are 2 to 4 pages long and have cool random chapter names, for example the last chapter is named: “ The End (or something)” see what i mean by random. And in the boom there are tiny pictures and comic strips. Some of the pictures in the book take up to 2 pages and the comics strips reach to 3 pages total or carry on to the 4th page.

The basic storyline is that this girl named Flora lives with her mom and she hates her mom because for one she calls her by Flora Bell which is her real name yes but she likes to go by Flora and she hates her mom’s typewriter, but she especially hates her mom lamp that she loves more than her sometimes.

When she was looking through her window to see a vacuum cleaner outside in her backyard with her neighbor holding on to it. Then she saw a squirrel getting chased by this vacuum cleaner which is the new Ulysses 2000. When the vacuum cleaner sucks up the squirrel the squirrel gets super powers. When she found out the squirrel was going to be her pet she named this squirrel Ulysses. Ulysses was her new pet and no one was going to say anything about it. Flora and Ulysses go on an amazing adventure throughout the book and in the end her mom accepts the squirrel to be her daughter’s pet and the dad and her mom get back together.

Rating

If you like horror stories with a cliffhanger everytime you close the book this book is for you. The book is a horror story that will bring chills down your spine and you’ll never be able to sleep at night ever again.

The Collector is a good horror story and it’s one of the best horror stories to start reading. Before you read this book there are 3 simple rules to reading this.

  1. Never leave the windows open after dark
  2. No dolls in the house
  3. Never, ever goby he house  the woods

After her grandma told her these rules it only made Josie and her sister more curious about what was in the woods and why not to shut your windows after dark.

A little spooked, Josie is relieved to find that her school seems pretty normal. She even manages to make friends with the popular girl named Vannessa. When Vannessa invites Josie back to her house to hang out for a little bit, Josie doesn’t question it. Not even when Vannessa takes her into the woods, and down the old dirt road, toward the very house her grandmother forbade her to go to.The house has been calling for her.

Josie has weird dreams about the woods and her sister. Hearing moans and groans in the dreams and the final dream she sees her and her sister being chased by dolls in the woods. When these dreams were coming true she started to question her grandmother and Vannessa. When her grandmother falls extremely sick it’s Josie’s job to save Vannessa and her little sister from the curse of the dolls.

Rating

The book “Out of my Mind” by Sharon Draper is an incredible book. It is about a girl who has a disability called cerebral palsy. The character’s name is Melody Brooks. Even though her disability stops her from doing some things in life, her mind is capable of amazing things. She is really smart and has photographic memory. She wants to become more like a normal kid so she won’t just be the girl in the wheelchair. She goes to school but doesn’t have a lot of friends. The ones that she does make don’t turn out to be who she thought they would be. It is a wonderful book. It’s a book that you can’t put down! Every chapter has something new that grabs your attention! You should definitely try reading it!

Blended

Rating

Blended by Sharon M. Draper is a book about a girl who’s parents are divorced and don’t get along at all. She hates that her parents don’t get along and someday wants them to get back together. Her dad is black and her mom is white. A person at her school does something inappropriate to another student’s locker and won’t tell the teacher or principal it is them. They finally find out who it is and her parents freak out. Then her and her dad’s girlfriend’s son were at an ice cream place before her piano recital and they saw a man run out of the bank that was right across the parking lot. When they got into Darren’s car the cops pulled them over. Isabella was terrified. The cops made them get out of the car and put their hands on the back of the car. One of the cops pushed Darren onto the sidewalk. Another cop had their gun pointed at Isabella’s face. Isabella said that she only had a phone in her pocket and not a gun. She thought why would an eleven year old have a gun in her pocket? The cop reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone. The cop said if she moved she would be dead. Isabella cried I only want my mom and dad. She moved, the cop fired, she was down on the pavement.

Isabella’s mom’s car is very old and sometimes stops in the middle of the road and one day when her mom was on the way to drop Isabella off with her dad at the mall her car broke down. Her parents just had a fight and her mom didn’t care that they were late. When they got to the mall there were cops standing next to her dad and her dad’s girlfriend. Isabella freaked out and sprinted off running in the mall trying to find the closest exit near her. She yelled to her parents that were trying to keep up with her that she couldn’t believe that her dad called the cops on her mom and was going to arrest her and put her mom into jail just for being late dropping her off. That is why I think everybody should read that book.
